All host families have had background checks and have had their homes inspected personally by an East Coast Homestay representative.
Australia is a multicultural society so your typical Australian family may only be 1st or 2nd generation Australian and have a mixed background. Australian's are typically very laid back, friendly and tolerant of other cultures. All homestay families will welcome students into their lives and endeavour their house feel like your home.
Rooms and Living Guidelines
Host families must provide a furnished single room with a bed, desk, desk lamp and drawers.
Host families generally live close to public transport and will show you upon arrival how to use public transport to get to places you need to go.
Host families are required to provide 2-3 meals per day depending on what package you request.
The Host house should be a clean and safe environment for any student or tourist to live in.

Terms and Conditions
Accommodation is to be paid 4 weeks in advance and payment is to be made upon arrival directly to the host family. This initial fee is not refundable. If the student is staying for less than 4 weeks then the full amount equivalent to the entire length of the stay is to be paid.
After the initial 4 weeks period the student can agree to continue the arrangement with the host family or find alternate accommodation. East Coast is available to assist in helping you find alternative accommodation if needed. Placement fee and airport pick up fee (optional) is to be paid with application and is non-refundable.
